Cleophas Malala’s office at the DCP headquarters has been locked and that he is now considered persona non grata within the party.
Reports from inside the party claim that the Deputy Party Leader’s office has already been renamed the “Programs Office” as the fallout between Malala and Rigathi Gachagua continues.
According to sources, when Malala realized relations had broken down, he locked his office and stepped away. It is now claimed that the office was opened, his belongings removed, and packed into cartons before being placed at a corner of the reception area.
Sources further allege that several staff members who were brought into the party by Malala, mainly from Western Kenya, have been sent away as part of an ongoing restructuring exercise. By the end of yesterday, it is claimed that all of them had been removed from internal party communication groups.
The reports also claim that Malala himself has been removed from party WhatsApp groups, marking what appears to be a complete breakdown of relations between the two camps.
These claims have not been independently verified. However, they add to growing signs that the political marriage between Gachagua and Malala is ending in a very public and dramatic manner.
As the DCP divorce gets messier, supporters are left watching from the sidelines, wondering how a party that promised unity is now struggling with such deep internal divisions.
