A section of Democratic Citizens Party (DCP) aspirants has called for greater transparency over resources reportedly mobilized to support the Ol Kalou by-election campaign, raising questions about the use of campaign funds and assets.
The aspirants are seeking an explanation regarding an alleged KSh150 million that they claim was contributed towards the Ol Kalou by-election campaign. They have urged the party leadership to provide a detailed account of how the funds were received, managed and spent, saying members and supporters deserve to know how campaign resources were utilized.
In addition to the concerns over the funds, the aspirants have questioned the whereabouts of a double-cab vehicle that they claim was donated in the United Kingdom to support the Ol Kalou by-election campaign. According to the aspirants, the vehicle is allegedly being used at Outspan Hotel instead of serving its intended campaign purpose.
Speaking on the matter, the aspirants said transparency and accountability are essential in building confidence among party members and supporters. They argued that clear communication on the management of campaign resources would help address concerns and strengthen trust within the party.
The group has called on the party’s leadership to issue a comprehensive statement explaining the status of the alleged campaign funds and the vehicle. They say such a clarification would help dispel speculation and demonstrate the party’s commitment to prudent management of resources.
