Rigathi Gachagua has repeatedly declared he will contest the 2027 presidential election and defeat William Ruto at the ballot.
Yet the impeached former Deputy President spends every waking hour hurling the filthiest, most unfiltered personal insults imaginable.
Yesterday, after President Ruto’s devastating Matayos exposé, Gachagua reacted with predictable rage. Instead of addressing the grave allegations, he accused the Head of State of “descending” to his level — and therefore ceasing to act presidential.
Think about that for a second.
The “level” Gachagua operates on 24/7 — the same level he dragged the President down to — is the sewer of tribal abuse, body-shaming, and character assassination. If operating at that level disqualifies someone from being presidential, then by Gachagua’s own logic, no one at that level, least of all himself, qualifies to lead Kenya.
If trading insults is the standard that strips a leader of presidential dignity, where exactly does that leave the man whose entire political brand is built on venom and vitriol?
The impeached former DP, already barred from public office, now wants Kenyans to elect him as the country’s sixth president while insisting the presidency must remain above the very swamp he has made his permanent home.
He cannot have it both ways.
Either presidential candidates must rise above gutter politics — in which case Gachagua is automatically disqualified — or the office is open to anyone who wallows in insults, in which case his own behaviour proves he has no business near State House.
The conman has cornered himself. His 2027 dream just died by his own mouth. Kenyans are watching the self-own in real time.
