A planned trip to the United States by Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua is at the centre of growing controversy after claims emerged that a Kenyan political aspirant based in the U.S. had obtained a warrant of arrest against him.
According to information circulating within political circles, the dispute involves a substantial amount of money allegedly given to Gachagua by the aspirant in connection with securing a direct party nomination ticket.
The aspirant, who is a resident of the United States, is said to have followed up on the matter after the promised political arrangement did not materialise.
According to the allegations, Gachagua allegedly told the aspirant that the money he had received was not payment for a direct ticket but had instead been treated as a donation to the party.

The alleged last-minute change has generated considerable speculation, particularly because there have been no prominent photographs showing Gachagua arriving in the United States.
Instead, the DCP leader has been sharing photographs of himself and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, enjoying what appears to be a holiday at beach destinations.
