President William Ruto does not throw around the phrase “cold-blooded murderer” lightly.
When a sitting Head of State stands before the nation and accuses his former deputy of impregnating university girls—children young enough to be his own daughters—then orchestrating their murders to erase the evidence, the words carry the weight of classified intelligence files.
Rigathi Gachagua has no answer except silence and deflection.
Ruto’s Matayos bombshell yesterday revived the chilling March 6 testimony of Gachagua’s own ex-communications aide, Martha Miano: 22-year-old Regina Wairimu, a fourth-year engineering student at Dedan Kimathi University, allegedly made pregnant by the then-Deputy President, killed in her apartment after refusing an abortion. A second victim from Murang’a. A third name whispered from Migori. Miano insists she holds proof.
Add the documented family horror: Gachagua allegedly flew to London, coerced his dying brother Nderitu—racked with cancer—into naming him will executor on his deathbed, then returned home to strip widow Margaret Karungaru Nderitu and her children of Olive Gardens Hotel, Vipingo Beach Resort, Queensgate Apartments, Lang’ata high-rises—while pocketing Sh20 million left for their grandmother and Sh16 million earmarked for a nephew’s education. President Ruto had to appoint the destitute widow to government to save her family from ruin.
This is the man who amassed Sh5.2 billion in hotels, resorts and land during two years in office. This is the man impeached in October 2024 for corruption and ethnic division. This is the man who then toured Mt Kenya selling victimhood and crocodile tears.
If even one of these allegations holds—especially the gravest ones involving young women and murder—Rigathi Gachagua does not deserve sympathy, sympathy votes or a single day of freedom.
He deserves handcuffs. A courtroom. A life sentence.
William Ruto gave this man the second-highest office in Kenya. The greatest favour he can now do the nation is to ensure the alleged predator and killer faces justice without delay.
No more platforms. No more excuses. No more con. The monster must go to jail.
