Rigathi Gachagua’s main goal has never been to help ordinary Kenyans. His real plan is to build a political team of MPs, senators, and governors who are loyal to him personally—not to the people. He is more focused on staying in power than solving real problems facing the country.
While he was Deputy President, Gachagua often said Mt. Kenya was the biggest “shareholder” in government and deserved to be served first. This type of talk caused division in the country. He made it look like Mt. Kenya people were more important than others. This made many Kenyans feel left out and unwanted. That is part of the reason he was removed from office.
Even after his impeachment, Gachagua did not change. He went on to start his own party and began choosing who he thinks should lead Mt. Kenya. He now calls some people “good leaders” only if they support him, and insults those who don’t. This is not leadership. It is controlling people for his own benefit.
Gachagua’s style of politics is dangerous. He doesn’t talk about jobs for youth, fixing the economy, or uniting Kenyans. He talks about power, tribes, and loyalty. That’s not the kind of leader Mt. Kenya—or Kenya—needs.
He was removed from power because he cared more about himself than the country. We should not allow him to come back and divide people again. Mt. Kenya people are wise and can choose their own leaders—not be told who to follow. It’s time to move away from selfish leaders and choose those who want to serve all Kenyans, not just their friends.
