When President Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua started falling out last October, many people thought the President had betrayed his closest ally. Gachagua had always acted like the most loyal supporter — always speaking up, always defending the government. But with time, we’ve seen the full picture. And now, it’s clear: this was not betrayal. It was a necessary decision for the good of the country.
Gachagua was removed because of his own actions — not because of where he comes from or because someone hated him. He became proud, tribal, and too focused on himself. Instead of building unity, he divided people. Instead of serving all Kenyans, he tried to act like Mt. Kenya belonged only to him.
Kenya needs leaders who work for everyone, not leaders who speak only for their tribe or turn every issue into a personal fight. Gachagua used his position to push fear, anger, and entitlement — not development or peace.
Removing him was not easy, but it was the right thing. If we want our country to grow, we must stop following leaders just because they talk loudly or pretend to protect us. We must choose leaders who are honest, fair, and focused on solutions.
Gachagua wasn’t betrayed. He failed in his duty, and the system corrected that failure.
To those who have influence: use your voice to bring unity, not division. Kenya is tired of tribal politics. We want truth, service, and leadership that puts the people first.
Let’s stop making excuses for failed leaders. We owe it to our future.
