Every sane person in this country knows one thing: Rigathi Gachagua is not a viable option for the presidency. Let him make all the noise he wants—insulting governors, bullying leaders, or playing the victim card—but Kenyans have seen through the charade. This time, we will not fall for political theatrics dressed up as “grassroots mobilization.”
Gachagua rose to prominence in 2022 by styling himself as a defender of Mt. Kenya interests. But two years later, the emperor has no clothes. He has perfected the art of division—setting regions against each other, leaders against their own parties, and communities against fellow Kenyans. Instead of building a national agenda, he has built a fortress of tribal rhetoric. That’s not leadership; that’s desperation.
Ask yourself: what has Gachagua done with the immense power he was given as Deputy President? Has he built institutions? Promoted unity? Improved livelihoods in Mt. Kenya or beyond? Instead, his legacy so far is a string of political outbursts, threats to devolution, and personal fights with everyone who disagrees with him. Now he wants the presidency, not to serve the country, but to consolidate power and punish those who didn’t clap for him.
Kenya needs healing, not hostage-taking. We need bridge-builders, not backroom bullies. The presidency is not a retirement plan for political strongmen; it’s the highest office of national service. And service is not Rigathi Gachagua’s language.
The country is tired. Tired of empty chest-thumping. Tired of political messiahs with no message. Tired of self-proclaimed kings of regions who can’t even govern their own rhetoric.
Rigathi Gachagua can make noise all the way to 2027. But this time, the people are watching. And they are not buying what he’s selling. The mountain has moved on. So has Kenya.
